Being named because of the sandstone domes resembling the capitol building, Capitol Reef National Park became a national monument on the second of August 1937 by President Roosevelt. If looking up to the stars is your type of thing, enjoy a 7.4 magnitude sky with your eyes being able to see over 7000 stars compared to the typical 2000 you would normally see in remote locations.
